Carl Fischer Drum

eBayer mmmguitarman ( 2592) is offering eBay item no. 120499776554, described as follows:

Vintage 1900's Carl Fischer 16" Rope Marching Drum

This is a vintage 1900's era, Carl Fischer 16" (Cooper Square, New York) 'Rope' Marching Drum. Used. Shell depth is 10". 3-ply mahogany shell. Maple hoops. Snare throw-off looks to original, though not positive (see photo). 'String' snare strands. The snare side head is a Remo Clear Ambassador. The top head looks to be a Remo 'Fiberskyn' (not sure). Cotton rope is worn and will not 'tighten'. 10 original string 'lugs'. Two original string sliding tighteners ('hide' part of tighteners is worn). Shell is out of round (up to 1/4") on both sides. This drum needs some work in order to be able to play it properly.

  1. Anyone still checking this? I have this EXACT drum stored in my closet. Any idea of its value?

  2. Sarah, if you post your drum with photos and a description on eBay, the market will tell you what its value is at any given time (and that value could vary based on many factors, including what other drums are for sale at the time).
