Civil War Museum of Philadelphia

The Civil War Museum of Philadelphia closed the doors of its old museum in 2008, in anticipation of building a new facility, with a planned 2011 opening. That new museum has been delayed until 2014. In the meantime, the Civil War Museum will partner with the Gettysburg Foundation, the African American Museum in Philadelphia, and the National Constitution Center to ensure that parts of the collection will be seen by the public during the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War which begins in 2011.
